I keep telling myself this, and it doesn't make me feel any better. Maybe because in October of 2006, Josh was already at home on his Texas ranch, shooting things and scheming to himself about how he'd show us, he was going to win the fucking AL Cy Young next year and Daisuke was still a twinkle in John Henry's wallet, whereas in October of 2007, the Red Sox are IN THE MIDDLE OF A LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES, NOT THAT CERTAIN PEOPLE APPEAR TO HAVE NOTICED.

1. The Rockies are sort of like the Spanish Inquisition, no? Nobody really expected them, and now they're all... okay, so maybe the comparison falls apart a little there, since they're mostly just playing good baseball and not, you know, Spanish Inquisitioning. But still. They're scary.
2. 2008 Dice-K should feel free to show up a little early, you know, if he wants to. I'm just saying. (And, while we're at it, if 2004 Schill wants to make a return appearance, that'd be cool too.)

I'm much more fearful of Casey Blake's beard than anything from Colorado. Right after the whole wine-to-water thing, I think Jesus turned a bail of hay into Blake's beard. Whether or not what he experienced was an according to Hoyle miracle is insignificant. What is significant is that I feel the touch of God.
I'll be holding my breath all night tonight. Hopefully I don't pass out and die, but it will be worth it if it helps the Red Sox win tonight. ;)
